Most employers, especially those involve with managing business intelligence and huge data transfers everyday, wants their employees to have hands-on training before they could the rank of their regular employees.
This is much of a problem for universities which offer Business Intelligence or data analytics as an undergraduate course. However, according to a study commissioned by the Business Intelligence Congress II,it becomes a problem for employers because of the fact that institutions offering those courses are very scarce. Because of this, companies are left most of the time with applicants without hands on knowledge about the job they are applying for, which in turn makes the company responsible for giving them the needed training, which is students should be learning at school. Business data for students studying in the related field are not given properly to students, or at least students are not getting enough hands on knowledge about that particular learning. Colleges and universities need to do more on this little aspect that would prepare students for the workforce.
