Everybody someday or the other has to face a job interview in their lives unless they have their own business. The notable factor here is that amongst 100 people only 37 of them are able to clear their first interviews; it is not that people aren’t qualified for the post, but there are certain basic mistakes that people make when it comes to their first interview. The biggest reason for people not getting the job of their desire in the very first interview is mostly as a result of improper presentation of themselves. By improper, we primarily mean the dressing. One has to ensure that they wear proper clothes for an interview, which look good and are completely formal in nature. You might be very well prepared for the interview, but the interviewer may get turned off at the very first sight of yours, so try and look as smart as possible. Some people are so tensed that they do not even bother to listen to what the interviewer may be asking. This is a big problem that has to be overcome, as there are questions that the interviewer may be asking and you would not be actually listening to his/her queries. This is quite common for people who get tensed easily, hence, it is better to settle down and be attentive to what the interviewer has to say. As an interviewee, it is not always important to exhibit all your knowledge or even the skills that you may possess. There are some people who say everything about themselves within a few minutes of their interview. This at times makes the interviewer believe that the candidate is too obsessed with himself/herself. Always answer to the point and if feel that your skills are worth mentioning, mention them once and elaborate them only if asked. The first interview is always tough.
