If you are in Florida, make it a priority to stop by Fish-Head Aquatics and meet their customer service manager, Guiseppe Alfredo. While some people say service at the aquatics store has gone to the dogs, Rose Walker who operates the store could not be happier. You see, Guiseppe Alfredo is an 80 pound golden retriever.
He is Fish-Head Aquatics answer to the Walmart greeter. He welcomes customers, plays a quick game of hide and seek with his ball and otherwise charms and amuses store patrons. While he can't get a price quote or demonstrate new equipment, he saves his real talent for after the customer makes a selection. When the customer is ready to check out, Rose gives Guiseppe a command to "go to work". At that, Guiseppe stands on his hind legs and pushes the customer's cart up to the cash register. Customers seem to enjoy the personal service Guiseppe provides, as well as help getting their basket into the checkout line. Recently, a customer was impressed by the fresh water aquarium fish in the store and was ready to make a purchase. He was even more impressed, however, when Guiseppe appeared pushing a cart to take his items to the register. Guiseppe pushes the cart just like a human pushes a grocery store cart. At times he almost appears human. Guiseppe has such a strong following of customers and friends that many will just visit the store so they can see Guiseppe in action. And while there, most find some rare tropical fish they must purchase for their home or office aquarium. Guiseppe, not only a customer service representative, is also a sales dog by bringing customers into the shop. In this world of dog-eat-dog business practices, it is refreshing to see a dog just doing what he likes to do -- help his Florida neighbors and customers. He has a dog's life indeed.
